‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’ not only a brand in the tea sector of Bangladesh, but also a trusted name for the decades. According to the hope page of their website, ISPAHANI has a long history of providing the highest quality tea while serving the community at large. Their teas are known and appreciated throughout Bangladesh.
No doubt, they are one of the leaders of the tea sector of Bangladesh. Using the benefit of the situation, they are the price controller of the tea market. We, the customer, don’t even know what will be the rate tomorrow when we’ll go to purchase.
There are offers one after another coming to the market. It is natural. Every business has the right to provide offer to the customer to grow up their business. That will definitely increase their market share also. It’s nice for the customers also.
Recently, ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’ has launched a funny offer for the customers. In the top of the 400gm pack (I do not know about the other pack) they have instructed the customers to take 10 taka discount from the shopkeepers. Where there is stamped seal of the price BDT 210. That became really funny to me. I bought some other goods and a packet of 400gm pack of ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’ also. But the shopkeeper kept BDT 210 from me. I asked to the shopkeeper to reduce the 10 takas from the total price. The shopkeeper answered me that the offer is just an eye-wash the company has given then nothing to fulfill the offer.
I became very much sad being the prey of the mockery of the one of the leading companies like ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’. On the one hand they are hiking the price of their product without any reason, on the other hand they are playing a game with the lower middle-class customer like us.
I know, there will definitely a blame game be placed between the ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’ company and the shopkeepers. One party will say that they have found nothing to meet the offer and the other party will tell that they have already discounted the offer amount from wholesale price during the trade occurred between them. But thousands of lower middle-class customers like me have become slaughtered without making any sound.
Its just a common calculation of marketing math. If we imagine 10% of market share of the total market is being served by the ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’, that will stand about 34 lakh families of Bangladesh. If 10% of them purchases 400 gm pack of the ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Tea’ in one month, the offer handling amount will become more than 34 million BDT. The rest amount of profit is not the matter of my calculation.
At the conclusion of this discussion, I humbly ask the authority, ‘why are you throwing us in such a funny game? We are lower middle-class people. We are facing lots of some other mockeries daily. Please forgive us?’ Take 10 taka from us directly. We’ll be always slaughtered everywhere. We have born to be so.
As a writer of this article, I do not know who is the real pocket picker. But, I am sure company is helping the retailer to pick our pocket.
